Darlene’s journey began in the field of cosmetology, where she discovered that the real obstacles people face are often rooted in the stories they believe about themselves. This insight sparked a lifelong commitment to supporting others in more meaningful and empowering ways. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from Illinois State University, where she strengthened her clinical foundation while cultivating a warm, person-centered perspective.
Now a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Darlene specializes in behavioral health nutrition, with a focus on disordered eating and eating disorders. She brings extensive experience supporting individuals navigating restrictive eating patterns, binge eating, and the often complex emotional layers tied to food and body image. Her approach is compassionate, individualized, and grounded in the belief that true wellness begins with healing.
Darlene is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work and a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Illinois State University, where she also serves as a Graduate Assistant of Field Education. This continued education further expands her ability to support clients through the emotional and social complexities that shape health, behavior, and self-perception.
In addition to her clinical work, she holds a Health and Life Coaching Certificate and a Certificate of Training in Pediatric and Adult Weight Management, equipping her with specialized tools to support clients across a range of needs and life stages. Darlene is also a proud Rotarian in the community, an active member of the Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group, and brings years of experience working with diverse individuals and families.
