Our Team

Support Group Facilitator

After 14 years of battling her own eating disorder and engaging with various treatment methods and programs, Michelle found solace, community, and strength in becoming a support group facilitator and resource person in Bloomington IL  for ANAD (The National Association for Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders). A few years later, her journey took her to northern Arizona, where she continued her role with ANAD and became a local advocate for eating disorder awareness and body acceptance. Michelle taught an eating disorder awareness lesson and a teenage pregnancy prevention program to local teens, and facilitated educational workshops and events for parents and community organizations.

After becoming a mother of two girls, Michelle took a break from her direct role as a support person for those suffering from eating disorders. However, she found her way back when she started working in the guidance office at Parkside Junior High School, eventually becoming a case manager for youth struggling with internalizing mental health concerns at the Central Illinois Bridge Academy in Normal, Illinois.

Upon learning about the mission of the One Hope Project during a personal development training, Michelle was excited to join the team as our first support group facilitator. She is passionate about this role and truly enjoys walking alongside support group members during their growth and healing process, which she considers a lifelong journey.
